Yoki

Registered Name: Erauspojan Kuujoki
Kennel Name: "Yoki" ( aka "Smokin' Joe")
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: April 3, 1997
Place of Birth: Southern Lapland, Finland
Weight: 47 lbs.
Lineage: Bred from Usvan lines, Yoki comes to us from a famous kennel dedicated to maintaining extremely functional hunting KBDs

Special Skills: Yoki has a great nose for tracking and seems to be fearless on bears: he would ride their backs biting and snarling if we let him! He's also an exceptional barker. Yoki is the father of the first Finnish line of KBDs born in North America that are used in bear-conflict work.

Education Level: Yoki has completed his Beginning Obedience course.

Personality: Intense is an understatement when it comes to describing Yoki. He is full of focus and drive, yet he loves to cuddle up with people on the floor and gently nibble their bare arms in a gesture of adoration. He is a vocal dog, often letting out a moan as he stretches out on the ground or whining a little at whoever is sitting closest so they notice him and give him some love.

Special Note: Kuujoki, meaning "Moon River", is from Erauspojan ("Yearling Bear") Kennel in Lapland. Carrie met his parents through bear biologist Erik Nyholm while in Finland tracking down Cassie's "Usvan" ancestors. Yoki brings Cassie's old, old lines back to us. He is the first male KBD with proven bear lines to be brought into North America. Yoki made the trip to the United States all by himself when he was only 5 months old.
