Special Skills:
Tess is the first bear conflict dog to be placed with Montana Fish,
Wildlife, and Parks. Tess's owner, Tim Manley, is Northwest Montana's
Grizzly Bear Management Specialist. Tess has been chasing bears
since she was eleven months old. Because she is very reliable off-leash,
she is one of the dogs we can turn loose on a bear if we need to.
Education Level:
Tess has earned her intermediate obedience certificate and her Canine
Good Citizen Certificate. This certification reflects Tess's obedience
level, the special ability to be affectionate with children, and
the temperament to work well with and among the public.
Personality:
Tess is one of the happiest dogs we know: she doesn't walk or run,
she bounces. She is the also the most musical dog on the team, comprising
the woodwind section of the kennel while the rest of the dogs do
percussion. In other words, she loves a good howl.
