Special Skills:
Rio's our most experienced dog and father or grandfather to half
of the dogs in our kennel. He is our best ground tracker, and not
just for bears. With his appetite, he is also very helpful in finding
improperly stored food in campgrounds. He is our "marine."
We count on Rio to break in new handlers, show them the ropes and
teach them how to shepherd bears.
Education Level:
Rio has completed intermediate obedience and earned his Canine Good
Citizen Certificate. This certificate reflects Rio's obedience level,
the special ability to be affectionate with children, and the temperament
to work will with and among the public.
Personality:
Rio is very light-hearted and loves people, especially if the people
have food. When he is excited, he jumps straight up in the air as
high as he can. He is almost always the children's choice because
he is such a loveable teddy bear and always gives kisses.
