Skills: Mica
is a tracker. Sorting out a track, whether bear, human or whatever
his handler asks him to find, is what he loves to do most. A good
barker, Mica did well with bears in his first year and has begun
to "shepherd" other species for his Conservation Officer
partner. Mica, his brother Kuma, and their handlers have formed
the first ever Officer -KBD team in Canada.
Education Level:
Because of his partnership with a Conservation Officer, Mica is
working on a individually tailored training program to insure that
his obedience, tracking and detection skills will make him as versatile
as possible in meeting his job demands. He has done great job so
far, accomplishing everything asked of him.
Personality:
Mica is serious, independent and totally focused when he's on the
job. His good nature makes him effective in his public education
role and he and his brother have become local celebrities. He loves
people, and when at home is always part of whatever may be happening.
He is especially fond of the lady of the house, as he has figured
out she controls all the good things to eat, and always makes a
fuss over him when he has had a long day.
