Kuma

Registered Name: Wind River Kuma
Kennel Name: Midnight
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: Jan 9th, 2001
Place of Birth: Heber City
Weight: 60 lbs.
Lineage: Son of Yoki and Carmen

Employed by: Alberta Dept. of Sustainable Resource Development
Fish and Wildlife Division
Blairmore ,Alberta, Canada

Special Skills: Kuma displays a very high degree of intelligence for only being at the age of one. His method of tracking is by air scenting items. The reward to him is what he finds at the end of the track or chase. Kuma at the ages of 8-12 months was given the opportunity to confront bears and cougars showing no signs of fear but determination to teach the predator his place. This is a dog that would risk his life for his owner or the public.

Education: From ten week old to the present Kuma has been given the opportunity to learn different degrees of obedience, pursuit, scent detection, to socialization of every living creature he meets. Resulting in a well-trained adolescent.

Personality: Kuma would fit the profile as the poster child for the Karelian Bear Dog breed. He is a very personal, outgoing, and handsome dog. He loves to show off when given the opportunity but is very focused and goal orientated when asked to educate bears. Kuma is a thinker and a do'er, making him a great bear dog.
