Jewel has been travelling with Wind River Bear Institute helping
with bear conflicts all over North America. She is a visually oriented
dog who will stand up on her hind legs to see better over tall grass.
Jewel is an extremely deliberate tracker, and is steady enough to
be able to shoot over or radio-track with.
Education Level:
Jewel has completed her beginner's obedience and earned her Canine
Good Citizen Certificate. This certificate reflects Jewel's obedience
level, the special ability to be affectionate with children, and
the temperament to work well with and among the public.
Personality:
Jewel is an old soul and her wisdom has earned her the nickname
of "Little Buddha" among the Wind River crew. She is an
escape artist who has been known to climb up corners of 6 foot-high
fences to get to where she wants to be or dig under gates to be
close to people. Jewel's littermates are Blush, Fancy, Raven, and
Usko. When Blush, Fancy and Jewel are together we collectively refer
to them as "The Raisins" because of their dark coats.
