DAINICHI
Registered Name: Wind River McCaw’s Dainichi
Kennel Name: “Dainichi”
Sex: Male
Date of Birth: January 31, 2004
Place of Birth: Heber City, Utah
Weight: 61lbs.
Lineage: Son of Eilu and Blaze
Special Skills: Dainichi will become one of our breeding males when we retire his Dad, Blaze. Dainichi worked his first contract beside his mom, Eilu, this fall as we patrolled a large grainspill in the middle of a grizzly corridor on the edge of Glacier National Park. He helped us reach our goal of “no dead bears!” Dainichi has become our kennel’s onsite ‘host’ for many of our extended “family” of Karelians that come to visit throughout the year. He is a big, playful boy that loves to entertain and rough house with new friends.
Education Level: Dainichi will achieve his Canine Good Citizen and Basic Obedience certification during the winter of 2006. He is also excelling in agility classes as our first Karelian to master the Beginning Agility Training course.
Personality: Dainichi is a big, sensitive ‘teddy bear’ with a heart of gold. He loves to race around chasing toys or any one of his numerous friends. One of his favorite past times is rounding up the local mice that like to hang out at the ranch. He loves to climb. He is always seeking ‘higher ground’ and can often be found on top of dog houses, shelters, tables, propane tanks or anything that puts him above the rest. Dainichi enjoys greeting people of any age. He is highly social and devours human attention and has been known to walk right into a crowd of 200+ high school students with the desire to meet and get to know each of them. He is a joy to have out in public with his kind “panda bear” face and his never-ending wagging tail. It’s impossible not to notice him, and that’s just how he likes it!
