Volunteers
Wanted!!!!
Looking for dedicated volunteers to work with a one-of-a-kind breed
of dog! The Wind River Bear Institute is a private organization
that offers state and federal agencies an alternative method of
bear management Instead of killing or relocating “problem” bears, we use our team of Karelian Bear Dogs to teach the bears
to stay out of trouble and STAY ALIVE. We are looking
for dedicated volunteers who can help us with the care of the dogs,
their yards, kennels, and the Institute’s office and surrounding
ranch. Duties include, but are not limited to, kennel chores, feeding
the Karelian Bear Dogs, grooming the Karelian Bear Dogs, training
the Karelian Beard Dogs, exercising the Karelian Bear Dogs (field
walking, biking, running and sledding with the dogs) general cleaning,
office tasks, grant writing, and errand running. These volunteer
positions are a great way to help out a very special team of world
famous, highly trained dogs and their caretakers, working tirelessly
to provide non-lethal alternatives for “problem” bears
in this area, throughout the country and internationally, as well.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with our organization,
please call Renee at 406-273-4899 or send an email
